As reported in the Austin Business Journal, two Austin-based software providers raised new rounds of funding to kick off the new year.
Appconomy Inc., which makes software targeting the Chinese retail market, reported a $9 million round of financing, one collected from a range of 33 investors.
Appconomy has a suite of e-commerce applications designed to connect merchants and consumers, and the latest round of financing brings its total funding to at least $25 million.
Separately, mobile enterprise software provider Hypori Inc. reported raising $7.1 million.
Hypori has a platform designed to connect Android and Apple devices to central virtualized infrastructures, a capability it unveiled at the Federal Mobility Summit event in August of last year.
On the telco front, AT&T also announced it has 200 job openings in Austin, with positions ranging from U-Verse technicians/installers to customer service reps for call centers and AT&T retail stores.
AT&T also is placing a special call for Texas-based veterans to visit the company’s online veteran career website to help match veteran’s military skills with job openings.
